Hand picked by Beast Masters Club, WSJ+, and WhistlePig’s Pete Lynch, this gorgeous 10 year cask strength rye whiskey absolutely knocked our socks off at our last live event.

WhistlePig has made a name for themselves with their private barrel program, putting out ryes from both Indiana (MGP) and Canada (Alberta) over the past few years. We’ve tasted dozens of them and this Canadian rye is one of the best we’ve ever tried.

A true beast, coming in at almost 120 proof (119.3), this one oozes with - you guessed it - melting butter and nuts! Like those street stands we have in New York “Nuts 4 Nuts” that you pass on the street and give you a crazy blast of salty oily nut goodness, this rye really hits all the sweet spots we look for: vanilla, lots of oak, leather, spice, and nuts nuts nuts.

Long legs amble their way down the glass while the thick oily mouthfeel greets you with a terrific punch of warmth. The crisp spiciness of the rye attacks the sides of your tongue while the sweets work their way to the tip. The finish is long, warm, and buttery - extremely balanced with very little burn for this beastly monster of a whiskey.
