Aw damn we got a BANGER this week. Remember last year's incredible run of "Murder Hornets" 7-year MGP ryes from Barrell Bourbon that sold out in a hot second? Well what we didn't tell you was that we liked those barrels so much that we ordered two additional casks and had the good folks at Barrell put them aside for us. So BONUS!! Here we go with Murder Hornet #4!

Oh man that nose is white sugar, mint mint mint, and spice. Double your pleasure with Double Mint Gum. Huge snowy slopes of spearmint greet the nose. Loads of sweet white sugar. Then we get into some leather polish, some deep oak, and then the spicy notes start coming out. Brown sugar barbecue rub, black pepper, cumin, little pops of chile peppers, blistery nightshades like roasted tomatoes and garlic. It's a sweet spice bomb if there ever was such a thing.

The palate is honey on the tongue, so thick and viscous, coating your mouth with all kinds of sweets. And then the finish goes right to the spice, huge mint, garden fresh mint leaves like when you pull one off the plant and rip it in half and get overpowered by that mint smell. Also the wood comes back with a nice biting oak, char, a hint of smoke, loads more of that dry-rub bbq, black pepper, chiles, just a really wonderful finish.
