We're crawling up the age range with this next Elijah Craig private barrel coming in at 10 years old. This little bad boy is super nice. It's woody, with some dry oak being the first note we notice in the nose. It's spicy, with spearmint and menthol, and some garden spices like maybe rosemary or thyme. The spice moves into some nice peppercorns and some deeper notes like maybe paprika.

The wood and spice only magnify on the palate which is very rye-forward, spicy, and punchy. It's not super oily, more of a dry spice and wood which is a fierce punch of flavor on the tip of the tongue. The finish brings all these notes together with some black licorice, sugar, spice, a lot more oak, and some tree bark.

This is a very unique Elijah, way more spice forward that we typically see, and we LIKE that! It's really punchy and we might almost mistake it for a rye if we didn't know better. So much flavor for the 94 proof, it's dangerously drinkable, but really packs a punch. And as always, a 10-year Heaven Hill private barrel at this price is a steal. These are gonna go quick, don't blink!
