It’s here! Barrel # 2 in our long-awaited, highly allocated Wild Turkey Russell’s Reserve private barrel! It’s yours in a two-pack with our private barrel rye from Traverse City. What a killer two-some!!

Who would have thought that almost forty years later the briniest of action stars, Tom Cucumber, would be back to reprise his classic role as high-flying ace Top Gherkin? But here he is, maybe a little worse for wear, but still ready for action. Call sign "Mav-Pic" is back, and he's dangerous! Dangerously in need of a nap!

We were only able to score two barrels of Turkey this year, so we had to be sure to pick absolute bangers! This second and final barrel is a real spice bomb. The nose is peppery, like roasted chili peppers. There's some chunky salt, burnt orange peel, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, really wonderful dry and super flavorful nose. Then on the back end we get all the sweetness of charred oak, wrapping all that spice in warm wood and leather.

The palate is super balanced with all that spice sitting square in the middle of the tongue. There's something about these spicy Turkey's that makes them so addictively drinkable! There's some sweetness hiding behind the spice, like sweet vanilla and whipped cream. But the spice really dominates this one. Mint, all those baking spices, and the bbq notes come back to delight the taste.

The finish starts sweet with a nice oily coating of the tongue. Then the spicy warmth starts to creep back up in, rising from the throat and the sides of the mouth. It's a super clean finish with no spirit burn but tons of warmth, wood, leather, and all those lucious spices.

What can we say? It's another winner from the Russell's, as if they ever don't make winners!
